Looking forward to Saudi ...
There's only one major tournament left in 2006, and it happens to be the second-richest of the year ... the players are looking certainly forward to it ...

"The event to me is a major aim, I would love to win it as it is the last event of the year, and as the number one seed I plan to win it, insha allah.

"It is awesome that we get the chance to play in front of a nation’s crowd who are like family to us and hope that we as Egyptians perform well."

"The inaugural Saudi Arabian Squash Championships in 2005 was a much anticipated event.

"All PSA Players set a real target to perform well for this final event of the year.

"It is an event which will make or break a player’s squash year - in that the high level of prize money will ensure a Player’s ranking stays high if the performance is good, or drop if the performance is bad.

"The 2006 event brings just as much excitement as last year. It is once again the final Professional event of the year, and all the players are excited by the prospect."

"I must say I’m quite impressed with the organisation.

"I was having trouble to get my visa, as I will be coming straight from Doha for the Asian Games, and Ziad actually called the relevant authorities in London, who have now accepted to give me my visa in London…!

"So, that’s really a good start….. And it’s a big tournament, big points, big money…!"

"I always look forward to visiting new countries, as I’ve never been to Saudi, and I’ve got quite an easy draw, as I play a young player called Gregory Gaultier, and then it gets better, Thierry, David…

"So, I’m really looking forward to playing Greg, I still enjoy playing squash as much I have ever done…"

"This will be my first time in Saudi Arabia and I am looking forward to participating in the Saudi International.

"It's always good to see new events establish themselves on the PSA Tour, especially ones of the stature of Saudi. Let's hope Ziad continues to support the PSA Tour for many years to come."

"The Saudi International tournament is already nearly upon us for the second time of asking and what a classic tournament it promises to be! With the unusual situation of the qualification already complete we have, for the first time since Hong Kong Open in October, every player in the top 24 in the world (unfortunately except John White).

"With five different winners of the last five 'Big' tournaments it is anyone's guess who will come out on top. There are still the like of Ricketts, Willstrop and Beachill who haven't won for a while and will be even hungrier for a victory in Saudi.

"So it is with great privilege that we travel to The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as one of a handful of International sportsmen who compete in this very influential Middle-Eastern country. The tournament promises to be even better than last year with a brand new glass court complete with glass floor.

"I know that Ziad and his team have worked even harder this time around to ensure it is going to be a fantastic week.

"The players will be giving their all for the second largest purse of the year and we all know that given how well we were looked after last year it will be a great week for all involved."

"After last year's tournament being so successful, it gives us great pleasure to return this year.

"With the second largest prize money on offer and the inclusion of the brand new glass court, it should make this tournament even better.

"All the players know how much Ziad and his team support the game, and strive to make this tournament the best on tour.

"This should result in some great matches, and I am sure all the players will be striving to become the Saudi Champion… giving Saudi great exposure worldwide."

"Saudi is a tournament that all the players are looking forward to, not only because of the fantastic hospitality provided by Ziad and his team, but also because everyone wants to end the year on a high.

"It's a bonus that all players know their opponents in advance with the qualifying slots having been decided well beforehand. Personally I'll be trying to cement my Super Series Finals place …

"Saudi is a massive tournament to end the year on - points and prize money are almost as high as they could be, so all the boys will be ready for this one.

"I've had a very average year, things have not gone as well as I wanted, so I'll try to get everything right to perform here.

"These top Super Series level events are the best, and most important, and we are appreciative of all the effort that goes into making it."
